Heating for marquees. Perhaps not surprising, but it’s a subject that we’re asked about a lot at this time of year. Summer is slowly fading and autumn is on its way. Before we know it our trees will be a riot of colour; yellows, browns and reds mixing with the fading summer greens.

The autumn and winter months provide a stunning colour palette and a wonderful backdrop for parties, weddings and events. But they also bring colder weather and cooler evenings, especially with the sun dropping below the horizon earlier in the day.

So, if you are planning to take advantage of autumns natural colour palette or the cool, crisp and clean setting provided by winter, you’ll want to understand more about the options when it comes to heating for marquees.

Heaters

Winter party tipsAt Lifestyle marquees we supply a subtle ‘indirect’ heaters to warm our structures. Our heater units are stored outside of the marquee and are powered by kerosene or diesel. Heat is blown into the Marquee through slimline, floor level vents; subtly integrated into the Marquee design for an unobtrusive look and feel.

Our heater units are thermostatically controlled, meaning that you can set and adjust the heating levels to ensure that they are just right for your event. Additionally, our heater units double up as fans. So, if the evening turns out to be warmer than expected, you can simply switch from heat to fan in order to circulate air around your marquee venue.

Importantly, these functions are extremely easy to use and can be operated from within the Marquee.

Other ways to ensure a warm and cosy marquee

Whilst heaters are important, they aren’t the only way to ensure that you’ll have a lovely warm and cosy marquee venue. In addition to heating for marquees, why not consider the following options too?

Boarded flooring & carpet

Combine your heating system with boarded and carpeted flooring. Boarded flooring provides an additional layer of insulation between you and the cold, damp ground beneath the marquee. Carpet, a cosy, luxury layer that feels great, looks stunning and helps keep cold and drafts at bay.

Glass doors and reception spaces

Party marquee tips: Marquee typesWhy not create a reception space in your marquee? A reception space is easy to create and can provide an attractive and welcoming area for your guests. It can also act as a barrier between the main entertaining area and the chilly outside world.

A reception space also provides the opportunity for creating a cloakroom. After spending time and money creating the perfect décor within your marquee, you won’t want coats, scarves and brolly’s strewn about the place!

Replace marquee door flaps with a set of glass double doors at the entrance. You could even add another set between reception space and main marquee. This way, guests will open and close doors as they enter and exit the marquee; meaning less drafts and less warm air loss.

Make sure that you create some cosy spaces for your guests to relax in. Marquees are very adaptable, so we are able to create separate zones or spaces which can be filled with soft furnishings, sofas and armchairs.

Imagine the type of cosy autumnal or winter space that you might want to create at home and try to replicate that here. It’s possible to install realistic, faux fireplaces with LED displays. Nice warm coloured uplights can also help to create a magical, warm and cosy feel for your space.
