Where do I start? Without doubt, the best way to find a marquee hire contractor you can trust is to ask around and get recommendations from friends or relatives who have had recent experience, then a telephone call will give an idea of the level of service you can expect.
What do you do? Some companies provide a basic supply service; we will do much more. We organise marquees, furniture, colour coordinated table linen, portable loos, power and lighting as well as liasing with your caterers, florist and band or DJ.
Why are some estimates so cheap? There are many different types of marquee and even more difference in condition. Go and see the marquees in the warehouse. Read paperwork carefully and look for what might be missing on a 'cheap' quote. The item most commonly skimped on is a proper power supply installed by electricians. Potential for a disaster on the day.
Do Marquees have to go onto grass? No, modern marquees can be erected on any surface, provided there is some means of anchorage, even for aluminium frame marquees. Undulating surfaces can be tackled with a standard boarded floor to existing levels, slopes and troughs will require an integral raised floor.
Can you put a marquee on a tennis court? Yes, tennis courts are a good space, though the surface can sometimes get marked and often the netting needs to be removed if you want to be able to freely circulate. A wooden floor is necessary to allow any water the marquee sheds to run beneath.
Will a marquee damage my lawn? Not really, except on soft, wet lawns the entrances and exits can become soggy where it is well trodden. We always suggest a wooden boarded floor on soft, wet conditions. Usually there is just a slight yellowing of the grass, which quickly grows back
When should I cut the grass? Don't leave it to the last minute. The aim is to erect the marquee on a dry surface to limit condensation and damage to lawn. Cut the grass a couple of days prior to allow it to dry out.

Which day do you erect the marquee? The weekly routine is to take down marquees on Mondays and Tuesdays and erect marquees on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. More elaborate jobs are started earlier in the week, the aim being to have complex jobs ready for florists, audio-visual crews, set designers, florists and catering teams to have access on Friday.
