Hollywood Nights – your very own Oscars
Roll out the red carpet, it’s party time! It’s the perfect excuse to dress up, and an Oscars themed party can mean anything from black tie and classic Audrey to contemporary chic.
Name your tables after the movie categories, or after your favourite film stars or films. A few well placed props can really set the scene, our life-size gold Marilyn and giant Oscar statue left no-one in doubt as to the theme of this party.
You can add back drops showing images of stars of the silver screen and even luxury boutique toilet units featuring pictures of our favourite Hollywood A-listers can be hired, ensuring your guests are kept on theme at all times!
Luxury elements such as a sparkling star cloth ceiling, a Pea Light dance floor and an LED bar bring a touch of glamour and Hollywood glitz, even if your party’s in a marquee in the back garden of your house in Guildford.
Titanic – an elegant nautical theme
A formal dining occasion doesn’t need to be a staid affair. Why not liven things up with a fun theme? Just like the great ship itself a Titanic themed party always goes down well! Ok, so it’s a terrible joke, but the truth is that a theme gives a party an extra edge.
Of course it doesn’t have to be a Titanic themed party, there are lots of alternatives out there. If you are thinking of something nautical then a Caribbean Cruise party provides a fabulous opportunity for dressing up and partying down too.
But if you do fancy a little Leo and Kate action then dust off your black tie, count the life boats, hire an incredibly stoic group of classically trained musicians and it’ll be full steam ahead for fun!
Our ship funnel and handrail props as well as a cruise ship backdrop really set the scene, throw in a few extra props such as life preservers along with a starcloth ceiling and you’ll soon forget your in a marquee.
The best part? You can blame your hangover on sea sickness… nobody will be any the wiser!
Ibiza chic – crisp, modern, white with club tunes and chill out zone
Recreate memories from the White Isle with an Ibiza themed marquee party. We may not be able to offer the sun, sea and sand but we can help you capture the party atmosphere and chilled out club vibes that Ibiza is famous for.
Clean lines and vibrant colours throughout the marquee, lots of white space, a funky bar and a cool nightclub area will set the scene. Use a creative lighting set up and a dry ice machine to build your club atmosphere and don’t forget those essential chill out areas for the perfect Ibiza vibe.
LED lighting, cube seats, white sofas and low tables work well when creating chill out zones. Create an area away from the dance floor and bar so your guests can truly relax and after a hard nights partying.
Wind down with some classic, chilled Ibiza tunes and watch the sun rise over your marquee. Get it right and you’ll be in for a magical, nostalgic night of partying and chilling out with all of your closest friends.
Garden party theme – fresh, classical summer theme
Why not make the most of the British summer time (While it lasts!) by holding a garden party for your family and friends?A top only frame tent marquee, without side walls or window panels, can provide you with a lovely feature area for your party, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors while still offering you protection from the sun or, seeing as this is the UK, rain if needed. Frame tents are versatile structures and can be built in a wide variety of sizes to suit your guest numbers.
Alternatively our Chinese hat pagoda marquees, with their peaked tops and scalloped edges, are a decorative option. One pagoda on its own would provide a 5m x 5m area of cover, ideal for housing a bar , buffet tables or even a couple of round tables to seat up to twenty guests for dining.
Put three or more Chinese hat pagodas together and you’ll create a beautiful space for your guests to enjoy during the day and into the evening if you want to party on once the sun sets.
Back to the 70’s party theme – retro disco special
Who doesn’t love a 70’s party? Crazy people that’s who!
Big wigs, flares, make up and outrageous footwear. Dress up as your favourite 1970’s rock or pop star or even your favourite TV or movie character from the dcade, put together an awesome playlist and your party is bound to be a hit.
Vibrant, bold colours are perfect for 1970’s themed parties, Colour change LED up-lighting or moving mirror heads can be used to set the scene but why not add a mirrorball for some classic 70’s chic?
The 1970’s theme is one of the simplest for your guests to find costumes for and there’s a whole host of fantastic theming equipment out there for hire too, anything bold and colourful is perfectly suited to a 1970’s party night.
Get your guests dancing, they won’t need much encouragement! Think Saturday Night Fever and hire an multi-coloured LED dancefloor and watch all of the budding John Travolta’s in the room strut their stuff – The great news is that nobody looks ridiculous wearing flares and platforms whist dancing and singing along to the Bee Gee’s…
Christmas wonderland – cosy winter theme
Contrary to popular belief marquees make great venues during the winter months. These days marquee heaters are excellent and by having a boarded and carpeted floor you’ll avoid the cold and damp altogether.
In a marquee you can create something bespoke and unique to you. There are not many venues that offer such versatility and the capacity for large numbers of guests. Create separate reception, dining and dancing spaces, breakout areas and chill-out zones, make your marquee an adventure and a place to explore!
Classic autumnal or winter colours, oranges, deep reds and whites combined with matching mood lighting will help to set the scene. Vary the lighting from space to space creates different moods and vibes and can be a fun way to give your guests a ‘journey’ through the different stages of your party.
Previously we’ve used wooden paneling and silver birch tree trunks to create a log cabin effect and we’ve even created a faux fireplace using a plasma TV and wooden fire surround. Comfy sofas and fake furs look great in a chill out zone and funky lighting and cool metal stage work can be used to create a contrasting vibe in your nightclub area.
Black Tie – sophistication and glamour in your own back garden
Everyone likes an excuse to get dressed up and a black tie party creates the perfect opportunity to get the glad rags on. A nice cocktail dress, a little black dress or a beautiful ball gown for the ladies and DJ’s for the men.
A Chinese hat pagoda marquee can be used to create a stunning formal entrance to the main marquee. A walkway leading to a set of glass double doors into the pagoda really sets the scene and once inside, a beautiful boarded and carpeted floor gives a premium finish and a luxury look and feel.
Set things off with some low level mood lighting, combined with spot lighting to features such as plants, trees and floristry. Pin spots to the centres of the dining tables work really well and a chandelier or two never go amiss.
A black and white dance floor offers classic appeal and is ideal for a formal event and a glittering star-cloth ceiling certainly adds a touch of class.
Externally, why not light up your house or your garden features with white or coloured spotlights? Highlight the walkway to the marquee with flame pits and/or festoon lights.
