Power, Electrics & Lighting
Power & Electrics
The Power and Electrics is an absolutely vital part of any event - if there is a problem with the power during an event, not only could it have an impact to Health & Safety, but it would have a serious impact on the smooth running of your event.
For these reasons, we only use ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) qualified, professional electricians in Inside Outside marquees. They are heavily involved in the design and planning of an event, as well as the set up and installation, and they are on 24 hour standby during the event. At larger scale functions, we strongly recommend that an electrician is in attendance during the event, this offers additional peace of mind for the smooth running. ECA certification, if required, can be issued for the installation.
To ensure there is an adequate power supply in place to service your event, we will liaise with all elements – the Caterers, Band or Disco – to assess their individual power requirements; keeping you informed of any major changes.
Electricity will typically be taken from the mains supply, and fed to a temporary distribution board within the caterers structure. Labelled circuits are then taken from here to supply the lighting, heating, power sockets for the caterers, band / disco, portable loos etc. The circuits are labelled on the distribution board, and the cables are all discreetly fed around the marquee structure.
If the mains supply (typically 60 -80 Amps) is not enough to supply the event, Generators (trailer-mounted) can be supplied either as a standby to the mains, or as the primary supply. The mains supply needs to be within 30 metres of the distribution board, or special cabling is required to prevent too great a voltage drop.
Lighting
The lighting is another important element to consider when designing the look of an event, both in terms of the physical appearance and the visual effect they can create. The timing of the event relative to the time the sun is due to set is also important to take into account.
We can light marquees to achieve most looks, ranging from the classic wedding look of Chandeliers and White Up Lights around the internal perimeter of the marquee, to the contemporary colour change LED Up Lights, with Dapple effect overhead lighting; there are of course many other effects that can be achieved – again if you have a specific look in mind do ask.
The external view of a marquee lit up at night can also be made to look magical. A good example of this is the Chinese Hat Pagoda marquees Back Lit with LED lighting.
Also, exterior lighting can be used very effectively to highlight garden features, trees and buildings.
