Looking for somewhere different for your marquee wedding reception? Discover some of Surrey’s best kept secrets
Our marquees are used for wedding receptions all over Surrey and the South East – be it in the garden of the home of the bride’s parents or within the grounds of a prestigious and historic property. Space is what it’s all about and we work with one company that knows space for weddings comes in all shapes and sizes. Blank Canvas specialises in finding little parts of the world that not many would know of otherwise – places that make for the most wonderful setting for a very special wedding.
As the company’s name suggests, Blank Canvas’ venues provide just that – a blank canvas on which to theme and create the wedding you’ve been dreaming of. There are few of the restrictions that you may find in more conventional venues, we’re talking locations that give the opportunity and freedom to be totally unique, whacky or utterly romantic.
Planning a Surrey wedding?
We’ve mentioned the very lovely setting of Busbridge Lakes in an earlier post. Other Surrey locations include Izzy’s Meadow and Park Field, two beautiful fields just three miles outside Guildford. Chosen for their picturesque settings, but also taking into account all the important logistics such as guest parking, both locations offer plenty of space and are ideal if you’re planning a festival-style wedding for up to 200 – you can even invite your guests to set up tents for an overnight stay! Littlefield Manor, also on the outskirts of Guildford, offers 400 acres of farmland and pristine gardens where you can host a wedding as relaxed or formal as you want. And Myrtle’s Courtyard, near Farnham, is a very charming Victorian milking parlour that is ideal for small wedding parties – put a marquee in the courtyard and your wedding guest list can increase to 200. It’s a lovely rustic setting, really suited to a shabby-chic wedding theme.
Looking for a wedding venue in West Sussex?
Then look no further than Fernhurst in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Night Pastures is incredibly romantic – a heart-shaped field surrounded by ancient woodland and located beside a lake. You could spend your first night as a married couple in a luxury yurt and there is plenty of space for your guests to camp overnight, too. And the Field at Fernhurst is also perfect for a marquee wedding for up to 100 guests. It’s handily located next to a 17th century pub with overnight accommodation in a converted stable block.
Marrying in Hampshire?
If you’re looking for a stunning outdoors location for your wedding, you’ll fall in love with Manor Farm, near Alton. This working farm boasts the most incredible views of the South Downs and there is a large field reserved for your marquee wedding reception and party. You certainly won’t find your marquee surrounded by cows, but you are definitely welcome to discover how a farm runs if you and your guests stay overnight.
Blank Canvas has a knack of finding picture-perfect locations, Inside Outside can provide the marquee – and we both share the ethos that it’s your day, done your way. Working together and with other suppliers, we can help you as much or as little as you want to make it the very best wedding day possible.
If any of these venues capture your imagination and sound like the ideal space for your wedding, give us a call on 01372 459485 or email email@example.com to discuss your marquee event.
