There are a wide variety of reasons for needing temporary gym and training facilities. The weather can mean that outdoor facilities are unusable due to flooding at certain times of the year. Cold weather can leave athletes more susceptible to injury. Hot weather can be an issue too.
Certain establishments have wonderful outdoor space but lack the permanent indoor space that they would ideally like in order to function as an all year around venue. In some cases these establishments also lack the available building land they would need in order to offer permanent indoor facilities for use during the winter months.
Flexible structures for flexible needs
It’s not only the weather that leads sports clubs and organisations – professional and amateur – to seek out temporary indoor facilities. Perhaps a permanent indoor facility is on the cards? Planning permission and construction of new buildings can take a long time to achieve; a temporary structure hired on a long term basis could be a great interim solution.
Occasionally, a sports club might need temporary indoor facilities for hosting special events. Designing and building a permanent structure may not be feasible if such requirements only come up every few years; especially if required for just a few months each time.
Schools and sports clubs with outdoor pools may wish to extend the swimming season with a temporary structure providing cover over the winter months. With a sophisticated heating system, temporary cover might not only make it possible to continue using the pool, but it will also provide an extra layer of protection for the pool itself when the temperatures are at their lowest.
How about a tennis club that wishes to extend its season? Not every club has the luxury of indoor courts. Those that do are likely to have limited capacity. Why not cover some of the outdoor courts during the rainier and colder months of the year? A great way to give club members more opportunities to enjoy the sport that they love and a great way to encourage new membership all year around too!
A temporary gym doesn’t have to feel temporary
We’ve created large temporary gym marquees with sophisticated, thermostatically controlled heating systems, level and solid floors, glass windows, lighting and electrics. We can incorporate IT and networking capabilities into our temporary structures too.
We’ve designed and built changing room facilities for professional sports clubs and establishments, such as Brentford football club and for the use of jockeys at Fontwell racecourse.
With careful design, incorporating all of the correct elements, a temporary gym or training facility will feel as permanent and will be just as usable as a brick-built structure.
