The soundtrack to your Valentines Day

February 9, 2016

Music often goes hand in hand with love –the song for a first wedding dance, to the one that reminds you of that special someone and with Valentines Day upon us we spoke to Bill Cuthbert from one of our recommended suppliers Sunrise Management about the instruments that inspire, set the best moods and are ideal for a romantic atmosphere.

 HarpistsBands
The harp’s elegant and soothing tones makes it the ideal instrument to accompany two people getting to know one another. A selection of well known classical pieces as well as pop songs from the likes of Brian Adams, Elton John and the Carpenters, in fact all major romantic hits by popular artists harmonise well with the beautiful harp, making ideal background music. The quiet sounds can work well on private nights, and the perfect soundtrack leading to a proposal.

 Guitarists/ Pianist
A solo guitarist or pianist performing love songs is a great way of setting the mood for an intimate Valentines date, whether the event is a private affair or a themed evening. For some the choice may be a an acoustic guitarist who also has a varied repertoire and can cover a variety of genres in one performance from Classical to Ed Sheeran.

 String Duos/trios/quartetsBands
String duos, trios or quartets are yet another form of entertainment well suited for romantic moments and gestures. Performing works of composers like Handl, Mozart and Elgar will provide elegant background music setting a romantic scene that allows new couples to get to know each other. For those on a budget the choice could be just a violinist who plays to a backing track thus being less expensive whilst still achieving a full and pleasing sound.

 Saxophonist
Whether performing solo or with an ensemble, hiring a saxophonist will give a Valentine’s event a blues/jazz twist producing a warm romantic atmosphere to the sounds of jazz classics such as Fly Me To The Moon or Have You Met Miss Jones? Saxophonists can perform at just the right volume for couples to communicate whilst eating and appreciating the music. Some Saxophonists do play with backing tracks giving a larger sound, but the tones of a solo sax.
