With the festive season on our doorstep and the new year just around the corner we’re wondering which wedding trends are likely to emerge in 2019. Wedding trends 2019
Believe it or not, when it comes to wedding proposals, the Christmas period is by far the most popular time of year for popping the question. We’ve put together a list of the top five wedding trends we expect to see in 2019.
Bright, bold colours
We’re not going to tell you that white weddings are out, that would be plain crazy – the classic white wedding dress will never go out of fashion, but expect to see bolder and brighter colours taking centre stage in 2019.
Punchy colours such as oranges and reds, supported by pinks and lilacs are expected to be popular. Don’t forget Megan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding – Green was the focus here and we’d expect to see a strong influence on 2019 trends as a result. Think invitations, floral displays, dresses and accessories.
From locally sourced foods, to sustainable floral displays – with the environment on everyone’s radar, Eco weddings are becoming more and more popular and we expect the trend to continue in 2019.
A simple outdoor wedding in a traditional pole marquee lends itself to the rustic or boho style wedding that has seen a recent surge in popularity. The style works well with the eco ethos too.
There are lots of ways to keep your wedding environmentally friendly – we like Southdown Shepherds Huts Eco friendly toilet units, no chemicals, just a fresh water flushing system.
We love the traditional wedding cake cutting ceremony, but when it comes to desert we want options! A desert station not only looks amazing but gives your guests a plethora of choices – cupcakes, mini pastries, tarts and pies. Pick ‘n’ mix is great for the kids and even fruit is an option at a desert station.
Our friends at Kalm Kitchen provided the fantastic desert station, shown in this picture, for one of our recent wedding clients .
Subtle, low floral displays
It depends upon the setting. We love to build natural flora into our marquees and our roof spaces are ideal for extravagant floral displays. However, we believe in the philosophy of less is more – an emerging wedding trend for 2019 is the low level floral display.
Replace round tables with long, and tall extravagant floristry with pretty, colourful but subtle low level displays.
If you are using a marquee then we’d suggest making the most of your setting – if the views are spectacular then make them the focal point with subtle floristry to support.
There are plenty of creative wedding stationary designers out there who would love to create something bespoke for you and it’s bang on trend for 2019. Check Out Boo Design’s portfolio of personalised wedding stationary.
Alternatively you could illustrate them yourself or ask a friend or family member to do so… Don’t over think it, you don’t need to be Rembrant, It’s all about you and it’s all about quirky so just have fun.
